October's Care & Share - "Sleep Tight" 🛌

Our Social Action Team is sponsoring a service opportunity here at Unity Santa Fe, called Care and Share, as a way of blessing others in our local Santa Fe community.

By talking with local social service organizations, we've learned what some of the greatest needs are in our community.

Each month, we are highlighting one specific need and offering the opportunity for you to donate items to fill that need.

When people who have been without a home for a long time are finally housed in an apartment with a real bed, they need CLEAN SHEETS!  That's the position that our friends and neighbors find themselves in when they arrive at Casa Cerrillos subsidized and supportive housing.  Let's help them sleep tight!  Please bring SHEETS AND PILLOWCASES, Full or Queen size during the month of October for our Care & Share drive.  New sheets are great, or they can be VERY gently used (no frays, stains, or rips), clean and neatly folded.  Bed Sheets

ITEMS ACCEPTED THIS MONTH:

•    New Bed Sheets & Pillow Cases

•    Very Gently Used Bed Sheets & Pillow Cases

(Full or Queen Size)

Bring your donations to church on Sundays!

Care & Share is brought to you by your Community Action Team.  We are SO blessed by your generosity and our friends at Casa Cerrillos will be so grateful. Thank you!

St. Elizabeth Shelter is dedicated to assisting homeless individuals and families by providing emergency shelter, food, case management, counseling, supportive housing and referrals to partnering human-service agencies. St. Elizabeth Shelter’s ultimate goal is to end the cycle of homelessness.

Casa Cerrillos’ Permanent Supportive Housing program offers traditional apartment living in a 28-unit efficiency apartment complex to homeless adults with physical or mental disabilities. Oftentimes, the individuals residing at Casa Cerrillos have co-occurring substance abuse issues.

Residents pay below-market rent based on income and can stay from a few months to several years depending on their needs.On-site counselors and program managers offer a full range of supportive services from life-skills training to obtaining benefits. The skills gained by Casa Cerrillos residents are indispensable, and aid in the process of residents becoming independent andself-sufficient.
